You’re in for a treat because today we’re talking about that very thing, the feasibility of working from home. However, before I continue, let’s recap what we’ve learn so far…
In video 1, we discussed the idea of starting marketing anytime. That is, if you want to do it, it’s time to take action. Now. Not after your site looks pretty. Not after you have 400 Facebook followers. No, the time is now, so get to it.
In video 2, we discussed discovering your “why”. Why do you want to work from home? Why do you do anything? What’s your motivation and how do you achieve the goals you set forth? Well, video 2 explores this very notion.
In video 3, we dug deeper and asked, “What will your future be like 10 years from now?” Piggy backing on the “why” question, this one also helps us explore our motivations, goals, and action plan…which take us to video 4!

Does Working From Home Really Work?
Ok, so up until this point in this series, we’ve been exploring the why. Why do you want to work from home. What’s your motivation? Is this something for you? Now, now is where the fun begins…now we explore the how. How do you do it? How can you create an online income? What’s the best way to make money online? How can we break free??
Woah, there. Slow it down (just a bit).
I say this simply because there’s not one answer to that question. There are as many ways to make money online as there are people on this planet (ok, maybe America), so the how, which is seemingly simple, can be extreme overwhelming, especially to a novice of such endeavors.
Lawrence dives into how he started out on eBay. He would buy low and sell high with merchandise that was in demand. This, however, was limiting because you had to keep inventory, deal with shipping, buy without the guarantee that items would sell, and a slurry of other headaches that came with the territory. Then, he discovered that rather than being an online “shop” with physical stock, why not just promote other people’s products?
Hence, affiliate marketing came into play. As an affiliate marketer, you simply tell the world about others’ products. An example we can all relate to with this is a real estate agent. These guys didn’t build the house, nor do they even own it in many cases. Instead, they promote it on behalf of the builders and receive a commission for their efforts. Apply this to the internet, where your market is now global as is your possibility of products to promote.
Now, the next question raised is how do I tell others about the products I’m promoting?
Answer: Blogging.
Blogging at one time was considered “less than” in the eyes of academia because anyone could essentially write whatever they wanted about any topic. However, as the internet has grown, so has this view of bloggers. Many of the most reputable sources out there are now found online, and bloggers are at that forefront providing current and accurate information to the masses.
Ok, you ask, so how do we connect the two? How can blogging about affiliate products make me money? And on that note, I will pause, for in video 6 of 10 – Being a Salesperson vs. A Solutions Provider, we dive more into that.
